Fishing Methods

Fishing Methods

Introduction
The sea is full of sea creatures, especially fish. Some people usually use techniques to fish out sea creatures, but some of those techniques could damage part of the sea. Here is some of those fishing practices.

Dredging
Dredging is sometimes bad for the deep seafloor. With the equipment use a steel cage, and the purpose of catching shellfish such as crabs, oysters, scallops, and clams, it also has the ability to damage the seafloor, and anything that inhabits it. Another problem this also brings is...bycatch, catching anything unwanted in the oceans.

Trawling
Another practice that sometimes damages the seafloor is trawling. With the equipment using a net and a boat, not only that it can also method could possibly be catching the same sea creatures as the dredging method. It also takes different creatures, which are not the creatures it’s supposed to catch, without no judgement., and could also damage the seafloor. We can all fix this and reduce this problem by finding a more efficient way to catch many creatures, that won’t damage the seafloor, and will also not catch any unwanted creatures.

Gillnetting
One last example of a fishing practice that sometimes damages the seafloor or the sea is gillnetting. With the ability to catch fish and other sorts of sea creatures with a big net connected to a boat, it can also cause problems for anything that is not a fish, or is anything that won’t be used at all. In a way, we can help reduce this problem from all the time to sometimes, by checking the ocean area for any unwanted species of sea creatures, and then dropping the nets in, or even, encourage others to end overfishing. It’s as simple as that.

Conclusion
So there you go. This information report has included some facts about some of the many fishing practices that occur on a daily basis, although there are some practices that could harm or even damage the ocean. Altogether, if we stand up for the ocean and protect it by thinking of a way to solve it, our oceans will be protected for a long period of time. With this information report comes the main message: Many fishing practices has a purpose, catching fish, but with this purpose comes a disadvantage (overfishing, bycatch, commercial fishing, etc.).

Haynes Showdown

Long long ago in an ancient village named Ha’apai, there was a young warrior named Wiremu. He went for a little walk as the midnight time flows. He travelled through Ha’apai and to the beach where he would stare up to the sky and the moon would shine through his bright eyes. He said to himself, “I could have sworn that I saw my own reflection but with a stingray beside me.”He knew there was something suspicious he span around and saw there was a young stingray.  “I was going to introduce myself but, well, you know it will be weird trying to talk to a sea creature.”

He looked around to see if any body was stalking him nobody was there.  He turned his head back to the stingray and it spoke to him. He was in a shocked to see a sea creature speak. “Hi my name is Dobby,” said the stingray. Wiremu was in another shock.  His voice changed as he struggled to speak to Dobby.

As time went on, these two became best friends for life. Dobby got bigger and stronger compared to Wiremu. Wiremu grew older and got more friends and over time, stopped visiting Dobby.

Dobby got jealous and started to hang out with the most vicious creature in the sea named Dracula. Dracula found out that Dobby was only using him to get back at Wiremu. Dracula was planning the most brilliant idea ever...well that’s what he thought.

Suddenly the next day Dobby was dashing around in the dark blue sea and then out of no where clashed into Dracula. All of a sudden he wrestled Dobby.  Dobby tried to defend himself but it was too late, Dracula had already drained his soul.

Hayne, Dobby’s real best friend sensed blood so he followed it and as soon as he found a body falling he dived straight down into the dark blue ocean.  The next day Hayne swore to get his revenge.

He met every contact person he ever talked to but none of them knew who the killer was. The last person was Wiremu. He met him at night at a river. He was grabbing water for his village. He swang his tail and introduced himself, “Hi my name is Hayne I’m a friend of Dobby.” He was shock to see another sea creature speak. Hayne pulled him closed and said, “Enough pitty patty!  Now tell me, who killed Dobby?” Wiremu told him that it was Dracula, so then Hayne swam to Dracula and said, “Dracula is it true that you killed Dobby?” But Dracula did not respond.  Hayne grew frustrated and swam back to Wiremu.

Wiremu and Hayne planned an idea to trap Dracula. The next day Dracula went for a swim and that was the perfect time for Hayne and Wiremu. They surrounded him and waited for him to take his first strike.

Wiremu jumped up and stabbed him with his dagger from the left side while Hayne struck him from the right side. Wiremu got him but Dracula was still up. Blood was rushing out of him he was losing his strength. Before Dracula died, Hayne came out of no where and struck him. He said to Dracula with tears falling down his face, “That was for destroying my friends life.”
